Technical requirements for LED light-emitting diode soldering

April 18, 2023

When we saw a shiny LED , we did not see that LED LEDs required a lot of program steps and technical requirements when assembling the production line. Let's talk about the technical requirements of welding. White LED light-emitting diodes are very strictly forbidden in the process of soldering. Some tiny details will have a huge impact on the soldering of LED diodes. Therefore, the following requirements must be strictly observed during the soldering process of LED light-emitting diodes:

1. Workers must wear anti-static gloves, anti-static wrists, and electric soldering irons must be grounded. It is strictly forbidden to touch the two lead pins of white LEDs with bare hands. Because the anti-static of white LED is 100V, and the human body working humidity on the workbench is 60%-90%, the static electricity of the human body will damage the crystal layer of the LED. After working for a period of time (such as 10 hours), the diode will be invalid. bright). In case of seriousness, it will immediately expire.

2. The soldering temperature is 260 ° C, 3 seconds. If the temperature is too high, it will burn out the chip if it takes too long. In order to better protect the LED, the LED colloid and the PC board should be kept at a distance of 2mm or more, so that the solder heat is dissipated in the pin.

3. The normal operating current of the LED is 20mA (the Minnes 3014 patch is 30mA), and small fluctuations in voltage (such as 0.1V) will cause large fluctuations in current (10%-15%). Therefore, in the circuit design, different current limiting resistors should be paired according to the voltage drop of the LED to ensure that the LED is in the best working condition. If the current is too large, the LED will shorten the life and the current will be too small to reach the required light intensity. Generally, suppliers will split the LEDs when they are delivered in batches, that is, the LED light intensity, voltage, and light color in the same package are consistent, and are indicated on the spectrometer.

1. Soldering iron soldering: soldering iron (up to 30W) tip temperature does not exceed 300 °C; welding time does not exceed 3 seconds; welding position is at least 2 mm from the colloid.

2. Wave soldering: The maximum temperature of dip soldering is 260 ° C; the dip soldering time is no more than 5 seconds; the dip soldering position is at least 2 mm from the colloid. LED welding curve pin forming method: 1. It is necessary to bend the bracket 2 mm away from the colloid. 2. Bracket forming must be done with a clamp or by a professional. 3, the bracket forming needs to ensure that the pins and spacing are consistent with the circuit board. 4. Bracket forming must be completed before welding.

Cleaning: Special care must be taken when cleaning the gel with chemicals, as some chemicals can damage the surface of the gel and cause fading such as trichloroethylene, acetone, etc. It can be wiped and immersed in ethanol for less than 3 minutes at room temperature. Electrostatic protection Electrostatic and current surges will cause damage to LEDs. Use Instatic products such as protective tapes and gloves when using InGaN series products.
